MGR award for Vaali, Subbu Arumugam

CHENNAI: Speakers led by P.R. Gokulakrishnan, former Chief Justice of Gujarat, paid rich tributes to the signal contribution made by former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran for the growth of the Dravidian movement.

Presiding over the MGR award distribution ceremony organised by MGR Kazhagam in Chennai on Thursday, Mr. Gokulakrishnan said MGR won the hearts of the masses through his programmes.

A ‘ponnadai,’ cash prize of Rs.25,000 each and a silver plaque were awarded to poet Vaali and Villupattu Subbu Arumugam.

R.M. Veerappan, president, MGR Kazhagam, traced his 34-year association with MGR.
