BANGALORE: Nine more offices of sub-registrar will be set up in Bangalore. With this, the city will have 15 such offices. The new offices are likely to function in the first week of March. According to a notification, offices of sub-registrar will be set up in Halasoor and Indiranagar, which have been bifurcated from Shivajinagar sub-registrar’s office; in Chamarajpet, which has been bifurcated from Basavangudi sub-registrar’s office; in Vijaynagar, which has been bifurcated from Srirampuram; in Yeshwanthpur, which has been bifurcated from Rajajinagar sub-registrar’s office; in Shanthi Nagar and BTM Layout, which have been bifurcated from Jayanagar sub-registrar’s office; and in Malleswaram and Ganganagar, which have been bifurcated from Gandhinagar sub-registrar’s office. Inspector-General of Stamps and Registration Shashidhar told The Hindu that his department was looking for buildings to house these offices. “We have staff and infrastructure for the new offices. They are likely to start functioning in the first week of March,” he said. The Halasoor office will have 35 areas under it, Shivajinagar 24, Srirampuram 33, and Malleswaram and Ganganagar offices will have only 8 and 9 areas under them, respectively.
