Congress, TRS showdown averted

TRS MLA Ramalinga Reddy asks supporters to be calm

Minister says State will not differentiate between people on political lines
Medak included among list of districts implementing Arogya Sri

SANGAREDDY: Even as the Minister for Major Industries J. Geetha Reddy dared the Telangana Rashtra Samiti to disrupt her programme in Dubbaka at a public meeting here on Thursday, distribution of land pattas passed on peacefully without any untoward incident except for slogan shouting from both the sides. The TRS legislator of Dommata, Solipeta Ramalinga Reddy played an important role in pacifying the TRS supporters who raised slogans in response to their Congress counterparts.

Inaugurated

Earlier Geetha Reddy inaugurated a new school building in Dubbaka, built at a cost of Rs. 20 lakh and a metalled road. While she was going towards the venue to lay foundation for the new mandal parishad office to be built at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh the Congress supporters raised slogans in praise of the Chief Minister. The supporters of the TRS legislator responded with slogans against the government. Ramalinga Reddy intervened and asked both sides to maintain decorum as it was a government programme and not a political platform to settle scores. Geetha Reddy then distributed few of the 461 pattas to beneficiaries .

Gesture reciprocated

Addressing the public at the mandal revenue office she reciprocated the gesture of the local MLA by saying that government would never differentiate between people on political lines. She announced that the Medak district has been included in the list of districts implementing Aarogya Sri scheme for the poor.

Ramalinga Reddy demanded establishment of a branch of Andhra Bank in Dubbaka for the benefit of beedi workers particularly the pension receiving workers. He wanted proper implementation of the Walta Act. In all 10,400 acres of land has been distributed to 11,000 beneficiaries in the Dommata constituency during the fourth phase including the 513 acres distributed in Dubbak today. Zilla Parishad chairman M.Balaiah was also present.
