Thiruvananthapuram: A group of debutant artistes from among the employees at Technopark launched their first music album — Voice of the Park — here on Friday. The album has been produced by a group of young musicians from Technopark. The album was released by cine star Mohanlal at a function held at the Technopark Amphitheatre. Voice of the Park, with seven tracks in four different languages, has been worked on from start to finish by Technopark employees, with no involvement of any professional musician. Everything from the music — vocals and instruments — down to the designing of the CD covers has been handled by the debutants from Technopark. “Technopark is renowned for being the first of its kind in several aspects. Be it software engineering, competency centre, the State school IT fest, collaboration of companies or cultural festivals, the park has always been a trend setter!” says Technopark CEO R.K. Nair. “Notwithstanding corporate boundaries and tight work schedules, a group of ardent music lovers have put together this exquisite collection of songs. The album reflects the passion for music,” he adds The music in the album is a blend of cultures. Hindustani chords merge with soft western, fast tracks are augmented by foot-tapping beats, and ensemble instruments intertwine in a wholesome union with legatos flowing to a romantic pitch. Lyrics are in English, Hindi, Malayalam and Tamil. About 25 musicians and supporting crew from different companies in Technopark (Allianz Cornhill, Infosys, IBS, UST Global etc.) contributed to the album. The release function witnessed a huge turnout of IT professionals. Musical and cultural performances by groups from Technopark lent colour to the event. A DJ party wrapped up the event. As many as 8000 CDs were distributed free of cost to Technopark employees.
