4th phase of land distribution ends

The programme launched in the district on Jan. 21

Minister also opens additional classrooms

VIZIANAGARAM: On the last day of the fourth phase of land distribution programme on Friday, Minister for Housing Botsa Satyanarayana distributed 531.76 acres of land to 589 beneficiaries from nine villages in Garividi and Cheepurupalli mandals at Cheepurupalli. Minister for Animal Husbandry and district in-charge M. Buddha Prasad launched the five-day programme at Gajapathinagaram on January 21.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satyanarayana said that though farmers had been tilling the land for several years they never possessed rights over the lands and the present government issued title deeds and other documents in the name of women for the same lands. Reiterating that the government was committed to the welfare of the poor, he said that ration cards, even after the schedule given for each mandal ended, would be issued throughout the year at the Revenue Divisional Offices in Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram.

Jala yagnam

Stating that Pedagedda reservoir project in Pachipenta was the first to be executed under ‘Jala yagnam’, the Minister referred to the minor problems pointed to him during his inspection of the project works on Thursday by some tail-end farmers and promised to rectify them shortly. The Minister inaugurated additional classrooms built with SSA grants at Mandal Parishad School. RECS Chairman Venkataramana and others were present.
