Six irrigation projects to be operational this year

ADILABAD: R&B Minister and Adilabad district in-charge T. Jeevan Reddy on Friday said an additional 15,000 acres of land will be brought under irrigation by next kharif season in the district. He said all the six medium irrigation projects that are being constructed in the district are slated to go operational later this year that will add another 76,000 acres to the irrigated land.

The Minister was addressing a press conference after distributing land under the fourth phase of land distribution programme at Asifabad. He said the Government is spending over Rs. 700 crore for construction of these projects.
