Minister safe as plane crashlands

PATNA: Building Construction Minister Monazir Ahmed, his two co-passengers, and the pilot had a miraculous escape when the State government plane made a belly landing at the city airport here on Friday.

According to official sources, the pilot made a belly landing finding the wheels jammed, in emergency conditions. The three-seater plane caught fire which was put out by attending fire tenders.

All the passengers jumped off the plane and escaped with minor bruises. The plane was substantially damaged.

An enquiry has been ordered into the mishap.
