Companies plan to invest Rs.5,000 crore, says Hooda

CHANDIGARH: Several companies plan to invest Rs.5,000 crore to set up their units in the Growth Centre, Phase-II, at Bawal in Rewari district which was inaugurated by Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday.

The Chief Minister, who also addressed a public meeting in Rewari after launching various development projects in the district involving an investment of about Rs.215 crore, re-affirmed his commitment to providing canal water supplies at the tail ends in southern Haryana.

He asserted that there would be additional generation of 5,000 MW of electricity by 2010 to meet the shortage of power supply in the State.

He praised the people of Ahirwal for their sacrifices while defending the unity and integrity of the nation and promised that the Government would leave no stone unturned in speedy development of Rewari district.

Referring to the demands presented by local MLA and PWD and Irrigation Minister Ajay Singh, he announced plans to open an ITI and construct a municipality building at Dharuhera and accepted the demand for opening of a Government girls college in Rewari. The Growth Centre, Phase-II, of Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs.200 crore in an area of 1,016 acres.
