“No bid to breach Azad security”

Staff Reporter

Jammu: Officials responsible for the security of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have denied reports that an attempt was made to breach his security. Nor were officials shifted from the Chief Minister’s security duty.

Television channels reported on Friday that the police foiled a terrorist assassination plot and that two of Mr. Azad’s personal security staff were detained.

SSP R.P. Sharma, who is in charge of the Chief Minister’s security, told The Hindu that the reports were an exercise in sensationalism.
