School to commemorate golden jubilee

Chennai: Fathima Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kodambakkam, will celebrate its golden jubilee on February 17.

Mayor M. Subramanian will preside over the function, to be held at the Madras University centenary auditorium at 1.15 p.m. Mary Ann Fernando, Provisional of the Salesian Sisters, Chennai Province, will inaugurate the celebrations.

The school will organise a light music concert by Lakshman Sruthi to raise funds for an auditorium to mark the 50th anniversary.

Principal Christina Anto said medical camps, community outreach programmes and inter-school contests would be held during the course of the year.

A blood donation programme has been organised on Sunday. The school’s former pupils and staff will also participate in the celebrations.
