Steps afoot to recruit constables

VIZIANAGARAM: Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Mann has said that SLPRB approved recruitment of 130 civil police constables (men), 34 women and 82 Armed Reserve constables in the district.

Accordingly, applications will be issued on payment of Rs.10 at the District Police Office from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days from February 4 to 23. The filled-in applications along with original certificates and Rs. 25 in cash will be received at the DPO from February 11 to 23. No fee will be collected from SCs and STs. General category candidates, who passed Intermediate and those who are going to write the examination in March this year, SCs and STs who passed SSC examination and studied two years of intermediate are eligible.

Home guards, who worked for 360 days in two years and have not crossed 30 years of age, are also eligible for the posts. Those who are claiming as locals must have to submit study certificate from class 4 to 10 along with the application.

The preliminary selection will be on the basis of 5 km run in 25 minutes for men and 2.5 km run in16 minutes for women.
