Support sought for fishermen stir

CHENNAI: Tamil Eezha Viduthalai Aatharavalar Orunginappu Kuzhu coordinator P. Nedumaran on Saturday said that all parties should extend support to the agitation by fishermen to protest against the Sri Lankan Navy’s underwater defence system between Kachchatheevu and Neduntheevu. In a statement here, he said the fishermen were protesting against the island Navy’s actions against them for the past several years. — Special Correspondent
