‘Elections soon’

BANGALORE: Contrary to reports in a section of the media that Legislative Assembly elections in the State would be held only in November, Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Saturday said elections to the Assembly would be held soon. In his Republic Day address at Field Marshal Manekshaw Parade Ground here, Mr. Thakur said, “as you know, Karnataka will be going to the polls shortly and the poll machinery is being geared up. The State is fully committed to free and fair elections.”
