Golden years: The St. Vincent’s minor seminary at Menankulam which is celebrating its golden jubilee. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The St. Vincent’s minor seminary under the Latin archdiocese of Trivandrum is celebrating its golden jubilee. Located at Menankulam near here, the seminary has imparted spiritual education to over 200 members of the clergy. including Archbishop Soosa Pakiam and Bishop Vincent Samuel. The seminary which started functioning at Meads Lane, Palayam, in 1958, was shifted to Menankulam in 1986. The valedictory of the jubilee celebrations was held on Sunday with a holy mass led by Archbishop Soosa Pakiam. The Archbishop also released a golden jubilee souvenir. Kollam Bishop Stanley Roman and heads of the Church in the Thiruvananthapuram and Neyyatinkara dioceses participated. Neyyatinkara Bishop Vincent Samuel inaugurated a public meeting held in this connection. ‘Kaalpaadukal Thedi,’ a tele-documentary on the history of the seminary was screened on the occasion.
