In full bloom: A flower show organised by East Coast Railway in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. — BHUBANESWAR: A show of rare flowers and plants was organised under the aegis of East Coast Railway in Rail House at Chandrasekharpur here on Sunday. Various units of East Coast Railway, Public sector companies, government and private organisations participated in the show, which was visited by dignitaries from government and other private organisations and they appreciated the display. Rare flowers and medicinal plants were displayed by about 20 units out of which six were selected for awarding prizes; three from railway and three from non-railway participants, an ECoR statement said here. A panel comprising C. R. Mohanty, Professor (Horticulture) and J. N. Dash, Associate Professor (Horticulture) from OUAT and B. B. Mohanty, Utkal University went around the exhibition to judge various flowers and plants displayed at the show. Speaking on the occasion, ECoR General Manager Ajay Kumar Goyal said that efforts would be made to streamline the show from next year. The ECoR General Manager gave away the cash awards to the winners in the prize distribution ceremony.
