Belgaum: The Belgaum Zilla Sahitya Pratisthan presented its annual “Sirigannada Award” for the year 2007 to four writers at a simple function held here on Sunday. The recipients of the award are Mahdevappa Pattan, Krishna G. Kadekodi, Shantappanna Mirji and Lalita Prahalladkumar Bhagoji. Those present on the occasion included senior writer Krishnamurthy Kittur and Dushyant Nadagouda. The awards were given for two books for the year 2006 viz. “Miyan ki Todi” and “Na Baratini Hallige” authored by Nagaraj Angadi and Mallesh Kumarshetty respectively. — Staff Correspondent
