BIDAR: The second Bidar Utsav was inaugurated on the premises of the Bidar Fort here on Sunday by film actor Anu Prabhakar.

The inauguration was marked by an airshow by a team of “Suryakirans” from the Air Force Station at Bidar. The team was led by Commanding Officer Sandeep Bansal.

Their performance included slides, splits, barrel rolls, turns and loops.

Inaugurating the utsav, Ms. Prabhakar appealed to the youth to protect historical monuments.

She called upon the people to consider historical monuments as “assets” and stressed the need for their protection for the future generation.

Deputy Commissioner Harsh Gupta hoped that the next utsav would have performances with fighter jet planes.

Mr. Gupta said that monuments in the district needed more publicity to draw more visitors and develop tourism.
