Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Untimely rains, caused by a cyclonic circulation in atmosphere in North India, lashed Srikakulam district on Sunday while the State, as a whole, shivered in cold weather.

Night temperatures in the State fell back to winter levels as a result of the Himalayan winds blowing across the South.

Tekkali recorded a heavy rainfall of 14 cm, Ranasthalam 5 cm, Sompet 4 cm, Ichapuram, Mandasa and Patapatnam 3 cm each.

Dry weather

Dry weather prevailed in Telangana while Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema received isolated rains.

The lowest night temperature for the day was recorded in Medak at 9 degrees Celsius.
