DMDK to face elections on its own

Staff Reporter

KANCHEEPURAM: The Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam president, Vijayakant, on Sunday brushed aside questions relating to concept of third front in Tamil Nadu and said that this had to be answered by those who wish to forge such alliances.

Mr. Vijayakant told reporters at Thamal village near here that he was very clear that his party would face the elections in future independently.

“This question has to be answered by those who aspire to forge alliances to face elections. Further, I have not set 2011 as the deadline for capturing power.”

Mr.Vijayakant said he had already forged an alliance with people. “The other parties are yet to respond to my challenge whether they had the guts to face elections independently.”
