Call to adopt modern farming methods

ADILABAD: Collector Ahmad Nadeem on Sunday exhorted farmers to use modern farming methods for ushering in proper development in the field. He said farmers should make efforts to make their respective villages as models of development that was possible only through improved agriculture technology.

Improved yields

Inaugurating the Kisan Mela organised at the Agriculature Research Station here by the Agriculture Technology Management Agency, the Collector said best among the farmers were being selected by the government in order to cause awareness on modern farming practices with an eye on getting improved yields.

Mr. Nadeem visited agriculture plots at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and also stalls set up by different departments. Joint Director of Agriculture Sayanna was also present at the Kisan Mela, where agriculture scientists disseminated information on technology to farmers.
