Minister assures amenities for schools

Betterment: Union Minister A. Raja giving away a bicycle to a girl at Veppanthattai on Sunday.
PERAMBALUR: Steps will be taken to construct an auditorium at the Government Higher Secondary School here at an expenditure of Rs.10 lakh, the Union Minister of Communications and Information Technology A. Raja said.
Speaking at a function to mark the distribution of free bicycles to the students of Plus-One course here on Sunday, Mr. Raja said that the district was poised for rapid industrial growth. At the Government Higher Secondary School in Padalur, the Minister said Rs.10 lakh would be sanctioned shortly for constructing an overhead tank and an auditorium. Collector Anil Meshram presided over the function.Later, the Union Minister declared open the hostel constructed at an expenditure of Rs.31.50 lakh by the Adi-Dravidar Welfare Department at Pasumbalur. He declared open the additional class-rooms constructed at an expenditure of Rs.10.75 lakh for the local schools besides other buildings.
