The apartments will consist of two to five bedrooms The residential complex will be built on a podium NEW DELHI: Providing a glimpse of one of its first works for the Commonwealth Games in 2010, the Delhi Development Authority on Sunday unveiled a model of the first sample flat to be built in the Commonwealth Games Village on the Yamuna riverbed. The three-bedroom sample flat with a modern compact design consists of separate balconies attached to bedrooms and a separate servant quarter along. Slated to become premium property in future, this flat will be part of the 27.5 acre residential complex to be developed by real estate developer Emaarmgf to provide housing for about 8,000 athletes during the Commonwealth Games. Once the Games draw to a close, two-third of these flats would be refurbished and sold by Emaarmgf in the open market, while the remaining one-third will be sold by DDA as per the Rs.321 crore bid won by Emaarmgf from DDA. A total of 1161 apartments consisting 4,000 bedrooms will be constructed as part of the project with each apartment ranging between 1,250 square feet to 3,000 square feet. The apartments will consist of two to five bedrooms and the residential construction would be spread across 34 towers. The residential complex will be built on a podium with two levels below for car parking and services. The whole area would be landscaped with gardens, walkways and pathways. Community amenities in the complex would include a club house and convenience retail spaces. The project is slated to be handed over to DDA by Emaarmgf on March 31, 2010. Assuring that there have been no delays in implementation of the several projects related to the Commonwealth Games undertaken by it, DDA Vice-Chairman Dinesh Rai also made a presentation highlighting the progress of their various projects.
