Delhi to get ‘Bike Ambulances’

New Delhi: Road accident victims in Delhi can soon have more help at hand from ‘Bike Ambulances’, which is the first-of-its-kind initiative in the country.

The two-wheeler ambulance service aims at providing accident victims an emergency transport as it can zip through the ever-increasing traffic of the national Capital.

The ambulances, with a driver and an attendant, will be deployed across the city for round-the-clock service after its launch later this year.

To be named the “First Response Vehicles”, the ambulance service would be run by trained medical staff known as “Emergency Medical Technicians”, N Balachandran, Special Secretary Health and project director of CATS said.- PTI
