KOCHI: The Centre for Science in Society (C-SiS) of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) has begun admissions to its science-talent development programme, which will be held during the summer and late summer vacation. This is the 12th year that C-SiS is conducting the programme for schoolchildren. The children will be able to use facilities at the centre, such as a science park, a herbal garden, the labs, the exhibition stalls and the library. Students from standards 4 to 10 can apply. There are morning and afternoon sessions. Children from far-off places can stay in the university guest house with their parents, at concessional rates. The total cost of joining is Rs. 3,200, which includes the expenses for manuals, lab books, project guides and so on. Brilliant students from socially and economically weaker sections will be given partial or full concession.
