School to meet needs of special children

Dharithree inaugurated at Narasipura village in Dobbspet


It will help uplift, train and empower mentally, physically challenged children

55 students with various disabilities will be admitted to the school


BANGALORE: Dharithree, a school to meet the needs of special children in rural areas, was inaugurated at Narasipura village in Dobbspet, near Bangalore, on Sunday.

The school will help uplift, train and empower the mentally and physically challenged children in rural areas.

The school was inaugurated by the Rotary past district governor Srikant M. Chatrapathy. In his inaugural address, Srikant Betegeri Secreary of Dharithree Trust, said that they have identified 55 students with various disabilities in and around Narasipura village who will be admitted to the school.

Students will be taught by specially trained teachers, he added.

He said that the trust also plans to build therapy centre, teachers’ training school and residential blocks for children with special disabilities.

A release said that the project cost Rs. 12 lakh. The work was completed in eight months, it said and added that the building is friendly to physically challenged persons.

Donations

Rotary Bangalore Orchards has donated a residential school for children with special needs.

Donations had been raised from Rotarians. Besides, Infosys Foundation has contributed for the construction of the building. Rotary Bangalore Orchards donated a school bus with hydraulic facilities where a person on a wheel-chair can board the bus without any help, it added.

The former Minister, Ramachandra Gowda, working committee member of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangha (RSS) Jayadeva, president of Rotary Bangalore Orchards Kirit Morzaria and immediate past president Harikrishna S. Holla were present.
