BHUBANESWAR: Even in this era of internet, there is the need for the artists to come together at times to share their common passion. Jatin Das Centre of Art (JDCA) has created that unique platform for the filmmakers and artists of India. Eminent filmmaker Mr.Shaji N Karun observed this while inaugurating the second annual national festival of films on art and artists hosted in the City on Monday. In his welcome note, JDCA founder and New Delhi-based noted painter Mr.Jatin Das, the brain behind the project who hails from the State, revealed that he has the dream to make JDCA an international cultural center. A large number of celebrities of Indian cinema have been flown in by Mr.Das to this capital city for the three-day festival that focuses on visual art and artists this year. The list includes Amol Palekar, Jahnu Barua, Gautam Ghose, Ketan Anand and Aruna Vasudev. Besides Orissa’s eminent film personalities Sarat Pujari, Nirad Mahapatra, Manamohan Mohapatra and Susant Misra have also been invited. As a tribute to the late legendary artist Ram Kinkar Baij whose countrywide centenary celebration is on, the incomplete film made on him by another legendary filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak was screened as the inaugural film.
