Chemists aim at better medicare

MAHABUBNAGAR: The district Chemists and Druggists Association President P. Jagadeeshwar and General Secretary G. Satyam and Treasurer K. Ramesh said that their association was working with an aim to provide better medical services to the poor in the district.
Speaking to media persons at the association building on Monday, they said that they have organised number of medical camps at several places in the district where free check up and medicines were provided to the patients below poverty line and those who hold white ration cards. They said that they have donated over Rs.3 lakh worth medicines to medicine bank that was set up in Red Cross Bhavan at Mahabubnagar town. “The medicine bank will supply the medicines to poor patients who can offered them”, they said.
They said that 1,150 medical shops spread over the district were selling medicines as per the prices fixed by pharmaceutical companies. They said that VAT was being paid by medical shops in the district at first point where medicines were being purchased by them from pharma companies.
