KASARAGOD: The Department of Economics of the Nehru Arts and Science College, Kanhangad, and the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) are jointly organising a two-day conference on health economics at the old library hall of the college on January 29 and 30, the organisers have said. Kannur University Vice-Chancellor P. Chandramohan will inaugurate the conference at 10 a.m. on January 29. District Panchayat president M.V. Balakrishnan would preside. K. Nagaraj of the Madras Institute of Development Studies, Chennai, will deliver the keynote address on the inaugural day. State Planning Board Member Mridul Eapen will deliver a lecture on, ‘Kerala Health Care Sector: An Overview.’ Technical sessionThe technical session would begin at 2 p.m. Presentation of papers will continue on January 30. The valedictory session would be held at 2.15 a.m. on the day. Pallipram Balan, MLA, would deliver the valedictory address.
