CPI(M) workers stage protest
CHIKMAGALUR: Workers of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) took out a procession here on Monday to protest against the delay in the completion of the Kadur-Chikmagalur-Sakleshpur Railway line. The procession started from the taluk office. The workers carried banners and shouted slogans against the Union Government. In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, they said that work has begun on only 45 km of the 93-km stretch for which the foundation stone was laid 12 years ago. V. Sukumar, secretary of the district unit of CPI(M), addressed the workers in front of the district offices.
