Cooperatives to submit loan accounts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran has asked cooperatives to submit accounts of the farm loans to be written off in Wayanad district before January 30.

The reports, after scrutiny by the assistant and joint registrars of the cooperatives, are to be submitted to the Finance Department immediately through the Registrar of Cooperatives. The Minister recalled that the government had decided to bear the liabilities of writing off farm loans of up to Rs.25,000 availed by small farmers (owning up to an acre) of Wayanad district before June 30, 2006.
