Woman kills children, commits suicide

Chitradurga: A woman reportedly killed her two children before committing suicide by hanging herself at her house in Srirampur village of Hosadurga taluk on Sunday.

The police gave their names as Savita (38) Sevanti (7) and Shavani (5).

According to the police, Savita’s mother had said that she was upset that her husband (Savita’s), Shankarayya, was ill.

She said that Shankarayya had heart and kidney problems. This made Savita worry about the future of her children.

She reportedly left a suicide note in which she said that no one was responsible for her taking the extreme step. — Staff Correspondent
