YSR invites TDP for debate on BCs

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has invited the Telugu Desam Party for a debate on the representation provided to Backward Classes and other weaker sections by the Congress and Telugu Desam.

The Congress had given more seats to BCs and weaker sections than the TDP and their representation would be further increased in the coming elections. Dr. Reddy said here on Monday BCs and weaker sections constituted a majority of the 41-member State Cabinet and they were given major portfolios like irrigation, agriculture and commercial taxes. The Government had initiated a host of welfare schemes for the weaker sections.
