Prospectus makes State service must

KOCHI: The prospectus for admission to professional courses in Kerala in the coming academic year has introduced a compulsory government service clause for medical and dental students.

Those getting admission in State-run colleges and government seats in self-financing medical and dental colleges will have to serve the government for a minimum one year. Education Minister M.A. Babysaid here on Monday, said the maximum period of compulsory service being recommended was three years. Those who refused to serve should pay Rs.5 lakh and those from self-financing colleges would have to pay Rs.5 lakh.
