Bangalore: Manish struck a brace (14th and 65th min.) as Bangalore Boys defeated BHEL (EDN) 5-0 in a State `C’ division football league match at the I.I.Sc Ground here on Monday evening.

Punith, Hitesh and Jayanth also scored for the victor. In another match at the Austin Town Ground, Young Muslims defeated South India 2-0. Santosh (17th min.) and Deepak (60th) scored for Young Muslims.

Shooting event

The shooting event of the State Olympics meets will be held at the Shooting Range inside the SAI Campus here from February 6 to 8. Entries close on February 1.

Thrilling win for KEBHS

In a thrilling match, K.E. Board’s School Dharwad (KEBHS) snatched away victory from Pavan English Medium HS (PEMHS), Dharwad, by one run in the KSCA under-15 inter-schools league cricket tournament in Dharwad on Monday.

In another match, Chinmaya Vidyalaya (Hubli) defeated KDO Jain English Medium HS by 240 runs, thanks to an unbeaten 115 by I. Atreya.

The scores:

KEBHS 212 in 39.4 overs (Shashank Hulmani 61, Rahul Chauhan 61) bt PEMHS 211 for nine in 40 overs (S. Goutam 75, A. Vineet 40).

Chinmaya Vidyalaya 312 for six in 40 overs (I. Atreya 115 not out, Sounak Biswas 42) bt KDO Jain EMHS 72 in 19 overs (P. Niranjan four for 26).

Madras posts win

Madras edged NEHU 2-1 in a league encounter of the all-India inter-zone inter-university football tournament at the Annamalai University in Chidambaram on Monday.

League results: Madras 2 (Jacob, Regin) bt NEHU 1 (Marad Mill).

Annamalai 1 (Sabith) drew with Delhi 1 (Pradeep Kumar Kadariya).

Calicut 1 bt Punjabi 0; LNIPE 2 drew with Kurukshetra 2.
