Bangalore: Anagha Unni bagged the girls under-16 singles title in the Century Club State-ranking badminton tournament in progress here on Monday. In the final, Anagha defeated A.D. Karumbiah 22-20, 21-17. The results (all finals): Boys: Under-10: S. Vignesh bt R. Abhishek 21-17, 16-21, 21-12. Girls: Under-10: Tanya Chetan bt Apeksha Nayak 21-8, 21-19. Ladies amateur golfSharmila Nicollet, the teenage golfer from Bangalore, will be looking to extend her unbeaten streak in the all-India ladies amateur golf when the 91st edition tees off on Tuesday. Sharmila won six of the eight events held so far and missed the other two due to exams and her participation in the European ladies tournament in December. Among the 73 entries for this tournament include Mehar Atwal (niece of Arjun Atwal), Laverry Kumar and Neha Tripathi. One girl from Sri Lanka, Maleena Awn will also be seen in action. The entry list also includes a nine-year-old Aditi Ashok and 72-year-old Dalbir Sahi. Six-day eventThe six-day event will have a qualifying round spread over the first two days. Golfers will play according to their handicaps in the gold division (0-12 handicap), silver (13-24 handicap) and bronze (25-36 handicap). The first two days will be played in the stroke-play format with the gold division playing 36 rounds on the first day. The last four days of the tournament will be played in the match-play format with the two finalists from each division vying for the title. Losing semifinalists will face-off for the third and fourth place while there will be daily competitions for all other losers in the match-play format. Easy for CoorgCoorg Cricket Club scored a facile six-wicket win over MRPL School (Kuthethur) in a Group C match in the Ramco Cup under-16 cricket tournament at the Nehru Maidan in Mangalore on Monday. The scores: MRPL 114 for nine in 25 overs (Susheel Kumar Rathi 25) lost to Coorg CC (Madhav 35, Prathviraj 25, Sameeha three for 30).
