ALUVA: Eudrick Pereira and Geo John were in fine touch as Thrissur’s Sree Kerala Varma College pipped Thiruvananthapuram’s Mar Ivanios 77-74 and won the men’s inter-collegiate title in the Carmel Trophy all-India basketball tournament which concluded at the St Antony’s floodlit stadium here on Sunday night. The teams were level at 41-41 at half-time. The result: Men’s final: Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur 77 (Eudrick Pereira 22, Geo John 19, Amal James 12, Bibin Chacko 11) bt Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram 74 (K.R. Nikhil 19, Albin Baby 15, V.G.Ajith 13). Special prizes: Best players: Geo John (SKVC, men), S.Indu (Central Railway, women). Promising players: K.R. Nikhil (Ivanios), Aby Jose (SKVC, both men). Top scorers: Eudrick Pereira (SKVC, men), P. Manisha (C. Railway, women). Best players in defence: Albin Baby (Ivanios) & Bibin Chacko (SKVC, both men); Renjusha Mathew (C.Railway, women).
