Traffic stopper: The driver of a container lorry carrying newsprint from Chennai to Tirunelveli hit the central median near Panagal Maaligai in Saidpet at around 4 a.m. on Monday. Though no one was hurt, vehicular traffic was hit as police tried to remove the lorry from the road. Eyewitnesses said traffic on the lane for vehicles bound northward was slow, while vehicles moving towards Maraimalai Adigalar Bridge had a difficult time. The vehicle was removed around noon.
