Adopt original levy: Vijender
NEW DELHI: Municipal Corporation of Delhi Standing Committee Chairman Vijender Gupta has demanded that the Delhi Government re-adopt the original “5:3” ratio in the total levy of proposed transfer duty vis-À-vis stamp duty.
In a statement on Monday, Mr. Gupta said: “Urban Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan has written asking us to consider the final rates of 2.5 per cent stamp duty and 2.5 per cent transfer duty.”
It is Imperative that this issue is resolved immediately and the MCD’s share handed over to ensure prompt implementation of development works, Mr Gupta said.
