Award for sangha

DHARWAD: Karnataka Sangha of New Delhi has been selected for the “Ambikatanayadatta National Award” for 2007-08, instituted by the Dr. D.R. Bendre National Memorial Trust, Dharwad.

Chairman of the trust M.M. Kalburgi told presspersons here on Monday that it would be presented to the Karnataka Sangha during the 112th birth anniversary celebration of Bendre on January 31 here. The award comprises a purse of Rs. 50,000 and a memento.

On the occasion, “Ambikatanayadatta Fellowships” would be awarded to two researchers, he said. Sanjiv Kulkarni of Dharwad and A. Udaykumar of Madikere had been selected for the fellowships for studies on Bendre and his works.
