Bullayya College stormed into the final of Andhra University inter-college “A” zone cricket tournament by beating AU College of Arts and Commerce by 176 runs in the quarterfinals here on Monday. While Dr. V.S. Krishna Govt. Degree College won by spin of coin after it tied with G.V.P. College, T.S.R. and T.B.K. College moved up with a one-wicket win over Samata Degree College, with the winning run coming off the last ball of the match. The scores: Semifinals: Dr. L. Bullayya College 258 for eight in 40 overs (E. Chandrasekhar 76, D. Kanaka Seshu 47, G. Prasad 45) bt AU College of Arts and Commerce 82 in 17 overs (G.P. Reddy three for three). Pre-QF: GVP College 88 in 20 overs (Kumar four for 18) lost to Dr. V.S. Krishna Govt. College 88 in 19.2 overs through spin of coin. Samata Degree College 128 for five in 20 overs (Laxman 69 n.o.) lost to T.S.R. and T.B.K. College 129 for nine in 20 overs (Avinash 65, Gopikrishna three for 18). KCA posts winKrishna Cricket Academy defeated LEM Stars by 81 runs in the Guntur District Cricket Association’s ‘A’ division league tournament at Loyola Public School grounds at Guntur on Monday. The semifinals will be held on February 14 and 15 and the final is scheduled for February 17.
