Four teenagers arrested, two murders solved
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE: The Subramanyapura police have solved two grisly murders, including that of a temple watchman, reported in their jurisdiction by arresting four teenagers.
Commissioner of Police Neelam Achutha Rao told presspersons here on Monday that sniffer dogs had led the police, investigating the murder of Nagaraj on January 22, to the accused. The arrested were identified as Venkatesh (18), Sushanth (18) and Harish (18), all residents of Uttarahalli, and Seena (19) of RPC Layout.
The four inebriated youths had bludgeoned Nagaraj near a burial ground at Uttarahalli on the night of January 22 and robbed him of Rs. 500 cash and a wristwatch. Later, in an act of necrophilia, the accused sodomised Nagaraj’s body, he said.
During interrogation it came to light that Venkatesh, Sushanth and Seena had murdered the watchman of the Shanimahatma temple at Chikkakallasandra on the night of December 31 and looted Rs. 5,000 cash from the hundi and silver articles from the temple, the Police Commissioner said while announcing a cash reward for the team that arrested the accused.
