DDA activities reviewed

NEW DELHI: Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy on Monday took stock of the activities of the Delhi Development Authority at a meeting of Parliament’s Consultative Committee attached to his Ministry.

The meeting chaired by Mr. Reddy was attended by senior officials of the Ministry, Delhi Development Authority, National Buildings Construction Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and Central Public Works Department.

The Members of Parliament were given an overview of the important activities of DDA by its Vice-Chairman Dinesh Rai. The DDA has been assigned development of the Commonwealth Games Village and competitive venues for table tennis, badminton, squash and archery. The organisation’s future plans also include building of sports complexes at Narela, Rohini, Dwarka and Karol Bagh, Rajender Nagar and Patel Nagar.
