A treat for nature lovers

Nature lovers in the Capital can look forward to a treat: the three-day Garden Tourism Festival that opens at the Garden of Five Senses beginning February 15. The theme of this year’s festival is Indian ethnic garden. Delhi Tourism organises this much-awaited festival every year to welcome the arrival of spring. The festival will host a special flower show on all days. There will also be a painting competition for children below 14 years, magic shows and a cultural e xtravaganza.

While plant lovers will get a good opportunity to appreciate a wide variety of plants and even loosen their purse strings to buy some of them, connoisseurs of good food can whet their appetite on an assortment of steaming hot dishes that would be available in the food stalls at the venue. Interestingly, the Garden of Five Senses is not just a park but a space with a variety of activities inviting public interaction and exploration. Developed by Delhi Tourism, the project was conceptualised as an answer to the city’s need for leisure space for people to socialise and unwind.

The 20-acre site — located at Said-Ul-Azaib village — is close to the Mehrauli heritage area.
