PUDUCHERRY: Inspector of Police V.T Abdul Rahim and Constable Mohana Rajaveni have been awarded the President’s Police Medal, according to Chief Secretary Rakesh Behari. Mr. Behari made the announcement during the Republic Day function held at the Upplam Sports Ground on Saturday. They were chosen for their meritorious service. At the function, apart from distributing the President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Extraordinary Service to police personnel, Lieutenant Governor Mukut Mithi also presented several other awards. Rolling trophyHe presented the rolling trophies for outstanding performance in the school final examinations instituted by the Chief Minister to 12 government and private schools in the Union Territory. The awards were shared by Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School, St. Joseph of Cluny Girls Higher Secondary School, Seventh Day Adventists Higher Secondary School, Nirmala Raane Girls Higher Secondary School, Karaikal, Servite English High School, Kottucherry, St. Joseph Girls High School, Muthialpet, Immaculate Heart of Mary’s High School, Villianur, Karaikal Ammaiyar English High School, Karaikal, Jayarani Girls High School, St. Joseph English Higher Secondary School, Thiruvandarkoil, St. Antony’s Girls High School, Attupatti, and Immaculate Heart of Mary’s High School, Reddiarpalayam. The Education Minister’s rolling trophy was given Vivekananda Higher Secondary School, Sellaperumalpet, by the Lieutenant Governor. Government Higher Secondary School, Sederapet, was given the Education Minister’s rolling trophy for producing the best result in the higher secondary examination.
