CHENNAI: Actor Krishna, who has acted in 350 films in a span of 35 years, has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by the Andhra University recently.
Now 63 years old, he plays the role of a police officer in ‘Kandasamy’, a bilingual film to be released in Tamil and Telugu.
The film is being produced by Kalaipuli Thanu and is directed by Susi Ganesan.
Director Susi Ganesan said: “Kandaswamy is my pet project. When I wanted to do the film in Tamil and Telugu I thought of only Krishna for the police officer’s role, which is very important in the film.”
Vikram said he was eager to do a film with only two directors. “I wanted to do a film with director Shankar and the other was director Susi Ganesan. The film “Anniyan” by Shankar happened and “Kandasamy” by Susi Ganesan is on. When I learnt actor Krishna was acting in the film I was more than happy to work with the legend. ”
He added: “In fact, I learnt many things from the thespian between the shots. When we heard that he was conferred with a doctorate we were all very happy”
