Accident averted

VILLUPURAM: An alert train driver detected damage on the railway track at Nerkunam near Mayilam, between Tindivanam and Villupuram, on Monday night and averted an accident. Soon after leaving the Tindivanam station, the driver of the Chennai-Mangalore Express felt unusual vibrations. He slowed down the train and alerted the railway officials at Mayilam at 11.55 p.m. on Monday. The Rockfort Express and the Madurai special were stopped at Mayilam till the track was set right.
