PUDUCHERRY: Activists of the Puducherry unit of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Tuesday took part in a campaign against the “steep hike in the price of essential commodities.” Rallying in four teams, the CPI (M) activists came in motorcycles, carrying party flags and raising slogans highlighting problems faced by the people due to the spiralling prices of products. They also held street-corner meetings calling for sincere efforts by the respective Governments to arrest the price rise. The CPI (M) activists would court arrest by picketing the Assembly on February 5, sources said.
