Stayed

Bangalore: Justice Anand Byrareddy on Monday stayed further proceedings against a builder after a first information report (FIR) was filed against him by the Bangalore police, provided he deposited Rs. 3 crore.

Justice Byrareddy passed the interim order on a petition by Joseph Chacko, a builder. According to the FIR lodged against Chacko, the builder had collected huge sums of money from 81 NRIs promising to build world-class flats for them. He, however, had failed to keep up his commitment of building the apartment complex in Bangalore. The city police had filed a FIR against him.
