NEW DELHI: Japanese IT and communications solution provider Fujitsu on Tuesday launched its premium ultra-portable range of laptops, including the world’s smallest tablet-convertible personal computer. The third-largest global IT service provider also plans to introduce its range of desktops within next three months.

Launching the new products here, Fujitsu PC Asia Pacific Associate Director (Business Development) Ivan Kam said: “Fujitsu has packaged these new notebook PCs with features such as expanded connectivity options, wide screen displays, high portability and versatility to help customers attain a definitive mobile lifestyle experience.”

Mr. Kam said the company aims to be among top ten leading PC players within the next two years. “We plan to sell around 30,000 units in India in the next one to two years. All our models are manufactured in Japan and come with a three-year warranty. We will also launch desktops soon, which will not be conventional ones that are generally available in the market. We will introduce exciting range of desktops with new features. We also plan to expand our dealership base and open 600 concept stores by this year-end,” he announced. The new models introduced in the India market include the world’s smallest tablet-convertible PC ‘LifeBook U1010’ (first 3.5G-enabled laptop in India) that weighs 0.63 kg and is enabled with mobile broadband and provides palm sized connectivity to travellers. It is priced at Rs. 85,000 for 3.5G-enabled and Rs.74,990. With a 14.1" wide screen, the premium LifeBook S6510 (3.5G) is a mere 5.6mm wide.
