Sensex down 61 points
MUMBAI: Foreign Institutional Investors were net sellers in equities on Tuesday as the Sensex ended 61 points down.
Domestic institutional investors, however, were net investors in shares. The Sensex ended the day at 18091.94, a fall of 60.84 points. After opening at 18346.49, the Sensex touched a high of 18491.06. Later it declined to 18091.94 and ended at 18091.04 against the close of 18152.78 on Monday.
Although the bank segment suffered a sharp setback on Reserve Bank of India maintaining status quo on key interest rates, the S&P CNX Nifty survived to close in positive terrain at 5280.80 on the National Stock Exchange on selective buying. . — PTI
